North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kody H. Kinsley will get the annual flu vaccine, as well as the fall COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, which Governor Roy Cooper has proclaimed at "Get Your Flu Shot Day." Secretary Kinsley will get both vaccines at 2:30 p.m. at a CVS Pharmacy in Raleigh.
Health officials recommend everyone 6 months and older get their annual flu shot, ideally before the end of October. Getting a flu shot is the best way to prevent getting the virus or to have milder symptoms if you do get it.

If you have not received a COVID-19 vaccine in the past 2 months, get the fall COVID-19 vaccine to protect yourself this fall and winter. The Secretary will receive the CSL Seqirus flu shot, which is made and manufactured in Holly Springs, North Carolina.
