Cherry Hospital’s Housekeeping Administrator John Miller presents Elaine Lozier with the Avis B. Hines Award.
April 11, 2018 — Cherry Hospital recently recognized Elaine Lozier as the winner of the Environmental Services 2017 Avis B. Hines award for most outstanding housekeeping employee of this year, an honor given since 1975. Lozier has been at Cherry Hospital since 2013 and is responsible for supervising and assisting housekeeping staff on the first floor.
Division of Social Services Employment and Training Program Consultant Nicola Allen was one of 40 people selected to attend the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Supplemental Assistance Program Employment and Training Learning Academy. The participants will spend eight months working with the Learning Academy, becoming experts in SNAP Employment and Training so they can create successful programs that help people find and keep gainful employment.
Cherry Hospital’s Cassandra Kelley, Katina Gurley and Beryl Greene recently graduated from the University of Mount Olive. Kelley and Gurley each received a master’s degree in Health Care Administration and Education. Greene received a Bachelor of Science in nursing.
Mail Room Clerk Michael Clegg received the Division of Child Development and Early Education’s Five Star Award for the first quarter of 2018. DCDEE leaders say Clegg goes above and beyond his job duties, hand-delivering mail with a smile. In addition, they say, he is friendly to everyone he meets and has a positive energy that’s contagious.
Nicole Alleman, the Deaf Blind Services Specialist for the Division of Services for the Deaf and the Heard of Hearing, received “The Giving Heart” award in March in Atlantic Beach from the North Carolina Deaf-Blind Associates. She received the award because of her passion and commitment for making sure her deaf-blind consumers are getting the best services possible.
