The Health Equity Portfolio provides thought, strategic, and operational leadership throughout NCDHHS to support agency priorities and embed equity in policy, programs, and operations.
The Office of People, Culture and Belonging supports the recruitment, development, and retention of a diverse and inclusive workforce with the required skill sets, competencies, and expertise to provide services and programs to underserved communities and intervene to eliminate disparities.
The intersectionality between health equity, workforce DEI, and a strong and inclusive workforce is that discrimination and exclusion for all variables at the personal, interpersonal, cultural, and institutional levels are root causes of both health and workforce equity. Workforce DEI skills are essential for effective workforce intervention at all four levels to foster well-being and save lives.
