Counseling Services at Departments of Social Services help individuals and families recognize, understand and cope with issues and conflicts. Social workers help individuals and families by providing counseling and by helping them locate services.
Individuals and families may seek help with:

  • Problems taking care of aged parents
  • Handicaps
  • Teenage pregnancy
  • Neglectful or abusive family members
  • Delinquency

Eligibility is based on need, not income. We can help you find appropriate social services or help you cope with problems including:

  • Consumer affairs
  • Family life
  • Substance abuse
  • Mental retardation/developmental disabilities
  • Physical and mental disabilities
  • School related problems
