Rules Review
Public Comment Period: November 1 - December 31, 2025
The Division of Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities is reviewing the rules in 10A NCAC Subchapter 89 as required by North Carolina law (G.S. 150B-21.3A). These rules govern the provision of services by EIPD under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. As part of this process EIPD has published an Initial Determination Report about whether each rule is still needed.
An unnecessary rule is defined as a rule that the agency determines to be obsolete, redundant or otherwise not needed. A necessary rule is defined as any rule other than an unnecessary rule.
We want your input. Public comment means submitting written comments that:
- Address the content of the rule to be considered by the Rules Review Commission; and
- Object to the rule, in whole or in part; or
- Object to our determination of the rule as necessary or unnecessary
You can submit comments on our Initial Determination Report page from November 1 – December 31, 2025.
