About the Commission

The Well Contractors Certification Commission was established by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1997. The enabling legislation established a seven-member commission. Members of the commission must meet the following qualifications:

  • Two members are environmental health professionals, actively engaged in well inspection and permitting.
  • One member is appointed by the governor from the Public at Large.
  • Four members are certified well contractors from designated areas of the state. Two are engaged primarily with domestic water supply wells, one with large capacity water supply wells, and one with non-water supply wells, such as monitoring or recovery wells.)

Find the contact information for the current Well Contractors Certification Commission members, the committee members, the types of wells the members represent and how the commissioners are selected.
