Continuing Education Requirements

All courses must be pre-approved at least 30 days prior to the course date.

Courses are pre-approved by the commission's review committee. Go to the meetings page for a listing of review committee meeting dates and deadlines for submitting documentation for the next meeting. You should submit course pre-approval requests as far in advance as possible because sometimes submittals are returned with a request for more information.

Two Continuing Education Units (CEU) are required each certification year for the first three years of certification and there is no carry-over. Sixty minutes of instructional time = 1 CEU. If you do not attend the full class (late, leave early, excessive breaks) then you will not receive full credit.

As soon as you complete a pre-approved course, submit your WCC-8b and proof of attendance if the course provider is not already doing so on your behalf. Maintain a copy of all your continuing education documentation for your files.

The full continuing education requirements can be found in Section .0800 of Chapter 27 in the Well Contractor Certification Rules (link).

We are currently in certification period 2023, which runs from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024. See a list of pre-approved courses for this certification period.
