Social Services Jobs

The Division of Social Services, part of the NC Department of Health and Human Services, is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Job openings within DHHS and DSS are listed here and information about how to apply for state jobs can be found on the NC Office of State Human Resources Work For NC website.

North Carolina is a county-based system for Social Services. If you are seeking employment with any of the 100 local County Department of Social Services offices, please contact the local office. Each office is responsible for its personnel. View the local DSS directory to find the phone number or address of any local county Department of Social Services.

Authorized social service agencies from all 100 NC counties can post job openings on the North Carolina Social Services Jobs website. Through a cooperative agreement with the US Children’s Bureau, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Social Work partners with the Division of Social Services and NC Association of County Directors of Social Services on the central job registry website for public social services positions at the county and state level.
