This webpage contains links to all the resources provided by the NC Radon Program.

Community Health Assessment Guidance

The NC Radon Program is providing resources to assist community health assessment (CHA) teams and community health implementation plan (CHIP) teams to include radon.

A video explaining how to utilize the resources below is available by clicking here.

Following is a list of those resources:

  • Toolkit for CHAs and CHIPs: This toolkit is a booklet that contains guidance on how to include radon testing data in community health assessments. The toolkit also provides links to downloadable education resources to assist in your local awareness campaign.
  • CHA Form Template: This is a fillable PDF that assists a CHA team with reporting radon test data in their community health assessment. Click on this link to download the fillable PDF template.
  • NC Data Portal: The NC Data Portal now includes radon testing data for all 100 North Carolina counties. This dataset allows CHA teams to compare the number of radon tests conducted with the number of housing units. The continuously updated data can help CHIP teams develop measurable plans to increase radon testing.
  • NC Environmental Public Health Tracking Network: The Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Branch also manages and displays the same radon dataset to inform, among others, community health assessment (CHA) teams.
  • Technical Assistance: Epidemiologists with OEE are available to provide mapping and technical assistance. Click on the link to complete their request form.
